Two beautiful  little girls Grace and Hope, that were born with less than a chance.

Born with a hereditary condition, called CAH-( Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia)   I , nor any one in my family knew I was a carrier of.-1 in 18,000.

I am a carrier of CAH, but my children are AFFECTED, if only they had been carriers as well..

 

This condition restricts everything they do, as any kind of PAIN they endure is felt to the extreme.

SAFETY is always a major concern, and ILLNESS is monitored, like a death watch.

The lives of my two girls have been shortened, as the medicine they must take For the REST OF THEIR LIVES- just TO LIVE, is a steroid. which promotes growth to the extreme.-(see link): steroid-cah

As well, as their salt-wasting CAH, the Grace ad Hope have ambiguous genitalia this is a disturbance that will come to haunt us as the girls get older, and become aware of their sexual personalities.-(as well psychological ,and emotional elements)-which in turn lead to stress.

STRESS is a major factor in the girls' health, as their adrenal gland-which is the "Stress Handler" of our bodies is not complete in theirs. This  goes hand in hand with their pain receptors. PAIN=STRESS, PAIN=STRESS

Travel to the specialists, (as we live in a small town, with medical facilities that have limited knowledge of the condition) as well as accomidations during emergencies, and every day "top condition"  ( so no accidents occur)  toys, equipment,and clothing (that is germ-free) have an added price tag.
